Alissa | 30 Something | Virgo | New England | Mom Friend of Booklr | Lover of Books, Booze and Crafts | But for realz, I'm just waiting on that one human who will sit on the couch with me, snuggle and play with my hair as we watch TV or read our own seperate books. Find them for me.
Um IDK I’m sure there’s something, but I can’t actually say.
do you believe in god(s)?
I do, I work with my church and have a generally open relationship with my faith. It’s a fluid thing tho, I love the traditions of my church but I have a lot of other bits of faith, including some witchcraft. It’s an odd blend.
what instrument do you wish you could master?
The piano. I always wanted to play but am quite rubbish at it.
I love the traditions my family has. We go to Vermont and basically spend the week together and then on New Years Eve we have a bonfire. Its really just a lot of fun.
Mimosa: what are you struggling with right now?
A bunch of things. But I think the one thats sitting hard on me right now is that despite my favorite part of the holidays is being with my family, I can’t actually spend Christmas with them. I’ll be with Boyfriends’ family on the actual day and honestly, my cat doesn’t do well with new situations or dogs and birds, which my parents have both of. So I have to stay home at least a little bit longer before going up for New Years. Additionally, Boyfriend is moving in in January so I need the time to make some changes and do some packing and reorganizing around the house before he moves in.
Plus, my father is really trying to guilt me on this one, which isn’t making it any easier.
Oversized sweaters and leggings are my absolute favorite. Boyfriend really enjoys seeing exposed back, so I also enjoy finding things with that option…
vague about your crush(es)
I really can’t be vague about him. He's boyfriend. I crush on him so hard. We’re gross and sweet.
is there a song you can’t handle listening to, even though you like it?
Um… no, ACTUALLY YES. I really enjoy the poppiness of Blurred Lines but I cannot in good conscious actively choose to listen to it.
how easy is it for you to be honest?
Pretty easy. Sometimes I have to be vague about something for work, but I’m generally pretty honest.
So clearly, my post title is a lie. I very much deserve nice things, we all do. In fact I’m embracing the following policy:
But the fact of the matter is, I’m really bad at doing a few things that need to happen before can I treat myself regularly. And that all falls back on things you need to be an adult.
I’m very fortunate in that I have parents who are very good at adulting and can generally…
So, if you’re a reader and single, chances are you’ve been on a few first dates.
As you might know I hate dating. The whole concept of dating makes me very anxious. I’m now – happily – in a stable long-term relationship, but I wanted to share a few things I learned when I was dating. Because dating is a hard and thankless situation and I am convinced no one really enjoys it.
My wife and I were were talking the other day and, I don’t remember what we were even talking about, but the idea came up that we would need an oreo for. I joked about getting one from my secret stash. This is where she made her mistake. She said “oh right, like you could have an Oreo stash without me knowing about it.”
I’m sorry?
That’s a challenge.
Oreos aquired.
I’m going to hide them in a super simple place at first
But be sure to follow this post while I chronicle all the ways and places I hide them and also how I plan on taunting her with cookies while she can’t find the package
Time to up the stakes. It was fun having em here and hiding them around her while she didn’t know what was happening. Bit now it’s time for her to be in on the game she is playing
If you two weren’t already married I’d beg you to marry her because you two are obviously perfect for each other and I love this post with all my heart
You like that eh? Well you are going to love today’s installment
Look at that. So sad. So few Oreos left
Guess I’ll just pin em right to the middle of the wall in the middle of the living room. She’ll never find em there
Oh, guess I should put this back up
Bwa ha ha ha! You guys! You guys don’t understand! I was planning on doing this and when I got home and looked at it I was like “aww, it’s too thin. They won’t fit.” I even TOLD my wife this and how I was disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to hide them back there.
But then I looked again. They dooooo
Thank you all so much for the love. I knew y'all would like this, but I had no idea you would like it THIS MUCH. People calling us “goals” and stuff… Man…. It’s kinda hard to take in ya know? Anyways: if this post gets Over 9000™ before I get off work today I will pick up Halloween Oreos on my way home and this will not stop
